Thermostatic Steam Traps are balanced pressure devices that use vapor pressure, within a diaphragm or bellows, to open and close within the trap body dependent upon the surrounding temperature.
Float & Thermostatic traps are available in three distinct types:
The Parallel Series (also known as ‘H-Pattern’ is most commonly available in 3/4″ to 2″ sizes.
The In-Line Series is compact and is most commonly available in 1/2″ to 2″ sizes.
The High-Capacity Series is designed for high-pressure applications and is most commonly available in 2″ and greater sizes.
Thermodynamic steam traps (also called disc traps) uses the higher kinetic energy of flash steam over water to close the trap with static pressure. As condensate enters the trap, it lifts the disc and discharges out three individually-ported outlet holes. The three outlet holes assure the vertical lift of the disc is parallel to the seat so no rubbing or tilting of disc is possible.
Designed for low maintenance with medium and high pressure steam, Barnes & Jones Bucket Traps feature an inverted bucket design with corrosion resistant stainless parts for optimal performance with blast coils, laundry equipment, hot water heaters, steam kettles and a broad range of industrial and process applications.
Available in 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 2” and 2-1/2” sizes to meet nearly every industrial and process application.
Brands We Supply:
The “Barnes & Jones/Edison Element”, called a Cage Unit, is a self-contained thermostatic repair unit that is designed to repair thermostatic steam traps without taking the trap body off line. Cage Units are 100% factory calibrated and tested, under live steam and condensate, to insure uniform operation in the field.
Similar to other types of steam traps, a Float & Thermostatic (F&T) repair is an easier and more cost-effective solution than replacing the entire trap in the line. Most of the time, the body is fine and it’s only one of the interior parts that is faulty.
Keystone carries Float & Thermostatic head assemblies that can repair most, if not all makes and models of steam traps, up to 125 PSI.
Keystone Steam Supplies offers replacement solutions for most Thermodynamic Traps.
Inverted Bucket steam traps eventually require repair as they go through their many open/close cycles during use.
Why purchase a new trap when you can easily repair an existing one? Save both time and money by keeping your steam trap body and replacing its internals with steam trap repair parts.
Repair parts available for almost every brand of steam trap.
The Ultrasonic Leak Detector is simple to use and highly reliable.
Each Ultrasonic Unit comes complete with a base unit, a contact probe, microphone hand probe, ultrasonic noise generator (optional), concentrator cone, headphones (for noisy environments) and test kit.
Keystone has a leak detector rental program available to Canadian companies. This is a simple and cost-effective way of doing your own steam trap survey.
Contact us today to inquire about rental prices and availability.
A Steam Trap Survey is a process in which an on-site audit of your steam traps is conducted, with the overall purpose being to determine which traps are faulty, resulting in both steam and monetary loss. Keystone Steam Supplies is able to conduct on-site steam trap surveys, ensuring you aren’t throwing away valuable dollars on energy on broken steam traps.
Faulty steam traps can result in both steam and monetary loss.
Call Keystone to learn how leak detection can help save your business from energy loss, as a result of faulty steam traps.
Evergreen® Series Condensate Return Pumps are designed to provide an efficient means of condensate recovery for steam heating systems and steam process applications.
Evergreen® Condensate Pumps are available in simplex and duplex packages.
Keystone can also brands such as Shipco, Hoffman, Mepco, Price and more.
Whether you’re replacing a pump outright or just want to keep the existing one going, we can help you with the equipment, repair parts, and acccessories to keep things flowing.
Keystone can provide condensate tanks for pumps.
Condensate Return Pumping Units are packaged assemblies consisting of a receiver (either Cast Iron or Steel), Pump and Motor (either Simplex or Duplex) and control device to turn the pump motor on or off.
Coils are heat-transfer devices – whether they use steam or hot water as a media to transfer heat to an air stream; or whether they use cold water to transfer coolness to an air stream. Eventually, they will corrode or erode and need to be replaced.
As a rule, like should be replaced with like. Let Keystone help you get a matching replacement coil based on your existing dimensions.
Coil fin straighteners are tools used to straighten the fins on coils that have been in installation and have seen some use.
If two fins get stuck together, the surface area used to convey heat is blocked. Coil fin straighteners are an easy fix.
Coils are heat-transfer devices – whether they use steam or hot water as a media to transfer heat to an air stream; or whether they use cold water to transfer coolness to an air stream.
Tubular sight glass can be ordered as either clear or red-line in various O.D.’s, thicknesses and lengths.
If ordering from outside of the GTA, consider polycarbonate tubes instead for safer shipping.
Reflex sight (‘B’ Series) glass is a rectangular glass with a molded glass section and is available in various lengths.
Flat sight glass (‘A’ Series) is a rectangular glass that is completely flat on all sides and is available in various lengths.
The Gauge Glass Guardian product is a protective poplycarbonate tubing, designed to protect tubular sight glass from accidental breakage, as well as detect leakage.
Polycarbonate tubing is available in lengths up to 96″ and in various O.D.’s and I.D.’s.
Polycarbonate tubing is a much safer to ship than tubular gauge glass, particularly when travelling long distances. However, it may not be suitable for all applications.
Gauge glass accessories include:

Valves control flow in all the varied ways you need them to. We supply many valve types including but not limited to:
Valves control the flow, but what makes the valves go? We supply electric, manual, pneumatic, and thermostatic actuators for a wide assortment of valves.
Valve Accessories keep you safe, make hard-to-reach valves usable on-site, and help you maintain valves over their service life.
Valve repair parts include rebuild kits, reconditioning kits, discs, spring repair kits, diaphragms, packing, ring packs and more.
Repairing an existing valve, instead of replacing, can save time and money.
Valve are devices that regulate the flow of gases, liquids, fluidized solids, or slurries by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. In an open valve, fluid flows in a direction from higher pressure to lower pressure.
Whether it’s a one-pipe or two-pipe steam system, the introduction of air and non-condensable gases within the system is inevitable.
Boilers are pressure vessels that contain a great deal of potential energy. It is crucial to regulate and control boiler operations to prevent overpressurization, as well as insufficient water in the boiler that can cause overheating and vessel failure
Also known as Bypass Feeders, pot feeders are simple and robust tools for adding chemicals into closed loop heating and water systems. Pot feeders typically come in 2 and 5 gallon sizes, in 2 or 4 port configurations, and either to rest on the floor or raised on legs. Filter bag kits are available separately to add filter capability.
Expansion compensators are used to absorb pipe motion in systems with diameters (up to 4” in steel and 3” in copper). The standard compensators allow 2″ pipe motion, 1-3/4″ compression and 1/4″ extension. The units supplied by Keystone Steam Supplies provide you with a solution to take up thermal growth in the most cost-efficient way.
Filters are used at various points in steam, hydronic, and air systems to keep them clear of dirt and other impurities that can damage equipment over time. Keystone Steam Supplies provides a variety of sizes of cartridge and bag filters
These metal connectors can be ordered in standard or custom lengths. The flexible portion is corrugated stainless steel with a stainless steel braid, and the fittings are carbon or stainless steel.
Whether it is air, steam, water or some other fluid that being moved, maintaining proper seals between and within parts of a system is important for function, efficiency, and safety.
Having the right information about the status of steam or hydronic systems is an important part of running and maintaining them. Without that information problems might go unidentified, leading to any number of issues.
Heat Exchangers come in many different types and styles. All styles do the same job – exchanging heat from one area to another.
Tube Bundles make up the “inside” of a heat exchanger and can suffer from ruptures.
Tubes are available in Copper and Stainless Steel (both 304 and 316) while the tube sheet is available in Carbon Steel, Brass, or Stainless Steel (both 304 and 316).
Lubricant that can be applied to pipes, joints, and other tight areas for easier fitting of new valves and other components.
High temperature lubricants (i.e. silicone based, etc.) are also used in the field on gaskets to make future removal for repairs easier.
Strainers come in several different styles and materials with multiple screen filtering options based on the requirements of the user. Typically, strainers come as either “Y” strainers or basket strainers.
Cast iron, bronze, cast steel and stainless steel strainers are all available.
Unit Heaters use air forced through a steam or water heat exchanger (coil) to heat a space, coming in horizontal throw or vertical throw versions in a large variety of sizes. They are often used in larger spaces including warehouses, gyms, garages, or showrooms and mounted from the ceiling.
Vacuum Breakers are simple, reliable devices that provide a positive means to automatically relieve or “break” an unwanted vacuum condition.
